Over 27,000 Coronavirus Cases In India In 24 Hours For First Time

New Delhi : India’s COVID-19 tally touched 8,20,916 with the biggest single-day increase of 27,114, the latest data from the Union Health Ministry shows. The country also witnessed 519 deaths during the period, taking the total number of death count to 22,123.Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases, followed by Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi and Telangana. 5,15,386 patients across the country have recovered so far, taking the recovery rate to 62.78 percent. India’s COVID-19 tally crossed the eight-lakh-mark on Friday, just four days after the number of infections in the country had reached seven lakh. India is the third worst-hit nation by the COVID-19 pandemic. Only the US and Brazil are ahead of India in terms of total coronavirus infections.
