Three Doctors Operated For 11 Hours To Restore 4 Fingers

Cuttack: On 4th of july,A 48 year old female from Pipli met with a major accident near Darada bypass. Her left hand was severely injured and her thumb, index finger, middle finger and ring finger were completely amputated.

The patient was rushed to a private hospital in bhubaneswar after which she was fitter referred to SBM plastic surgery hospital in Gopalpur, Cuttack. The plastic surgery team led by Dr Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak and comprising of Dr Rashmi ranjan Mohanty and Dr prasant Kumar bal immediately took control of the situation and operated on her severely injured hand for as long as eleven hours. All the fingers are in good condition and the patient is in a better state now. “Cases as such require immediate surgery, as soon as almost 6 hours from the accident for proper preservation of the amputated parts”, said Dr Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak.
