Preparatory Meeting of Cyclone Amphan by Union Secretary with Odisha CS

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra and Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena & other senior officers participate in a review meeting chaired by the Union Cabinet Secretary over cyclone Amphan, through video conference.Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood moved northwestwards during past 6 hrs & lay centred at 1130 hrs of today 1040 km south of Paradip (Odisha) and 1200 km south-southwest of Digha (West Bengal)

It’s very likely to intensify rapidly into a Cyclonic Storm during next 12 hrs & into a severe cyclonic storm during subsequent 24 hrs. Very likely to move north-NW wards initially till 17 May & re-curve north-NW wards across NW Bay of Bengal towards WB coast during 18-20 May.
