Thank You Jay Panda sir!
I had come Delhi for an interview and had to return Bhubaneswar the same week as a there were a few interviews pending there as well.
Unfortunately, I missed to board Rajdhani Express three days back, due to heavy traffic and was left stranded in New Delhi.
I was getting restless thinking about my interviews scheduled in Bhubaneswar and frantically tried booking new tickets in tatkal.
For two days, I continued to try every means to return, but I began running short on money and started to feel helpless in an unknown city. The air tickets were unaffordable for me and booking a a railway ticket seemed impossible.
With no option left, I decided to tweet railway minister Suresh Prabhu and Odisha MP Baijayant Panda as I have seen them active on social media.

When I booked my tatkal ticket for the third time, I took a chance and immediately tweeted the railway ministry and Baijayant Panda on Twitter seeking help for confirmation. Within three hours, the kind MP Jay Panda replied to my tweet asking me to email the booking details to his official team.
Please send us your railway ticket details to our email firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks.

With few hours for the train’s departure, I wasn’t very hopeful for getting a ticket. However, the MP team contacted me and sent a recommendation letter to the Railway ministry asking help on my behalf. I also got a confirmation berth and seat in Rajdhani BBS. From struggling for two days to now travelling back to my city will always be an unforgettable journey for me.
Glad we could help. All the best for your interview. ?

For Jay Panda, this could be a small step, but for me it was a miracle. At a time, when we see such negative news, people like Jay Panda restore faith in our Democracy and humanity.
Jay Panda ji, even though I can’t thank you enough ever, but still ‘THANK YOU’ for helping people in need!
