Jodhpur: In a heartbreak for all the Salman Khan fans, the superstar has been sentenced to five years of imprisonment after a Jodhpur Court found him guilty in the infamous blackbuck case of 1998.
The Court, however, acquitted fellow actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonaki Bendre in the same case.
Salman’s lawyer will be applying for bail petition. He has been taken to Jodhpur Central Jail.
It is a major victory for the Bishnoi community, who had been crucial witnesses to the incident that happened 20 years ago.
While shooting for ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain,’ Salman Khan was driving his colleagues in his gypsy, when the group spotted a herd of blackbucks. Salman had then shot two of them.
