Bhubaneswar : Bhubaneswar joins nation in condemning pregnant elephant death

The tragic death of pregnant wild elephant in Silent Valley Forest has triggered a wave of protests across the country, raising voice against the barbaric act.

In Bhubaneswar, city-based UDRA Charitable Trust organised a protest at Master Canteen square demanding action against people involved in the incident.

The protest was voiced by Odia actor Elina Samantaray, Sheetal Patra, Subhrajyoti Dasnayak (UDRA sampadika), Babu Babu (producer), Subhashri Mangaraj (producer) and several volunteers of the trust.

The protestors also urged the people not to resort to killing animals and raised awareness about the same. They also demanded strict laws to deal with such crimes.

The elephant had died after eating a pineapple filled with crackers.
