XIMB students celebrate Diwali with NGOs

The social responsibility committee of XIMB celebrated Diwali with the inmates of several oldage homes and orphanages across the city.

The students organised an array of cultural activities and games to entertain the inmates during the festivity.

“We need to understand the importance of our family. It feels sad to see children abandoning their parents. So, to ensure they don’t feel isolated, we have decided to celebrate Diwali with them,” says Swayamjyoti, a first year student at XIMB.

The inmates also feel elated and emotional with the display of love. “We are overwhelmed to see these children leaving their family and coming to celebrate Diwali with us,” said Jyotirmayee Das, an inmate.
