New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released new guidelines for Class X and XII students who wish to change their board exam centres to their home districts amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

“CBSE will allow change of examination centres with respect to candidates who have shifted and are residing in some other district in the country than the place of their school,” the Board said on Tuesday.

As per the new guidelines, in each district where CBSE has affiliated schools, one school will be fixed as nodal examination centre for those candidates who have shifted from their earlier district.

However, change of centre in the same district will not be allowed.

The Board also mentioned that no examination centre will be permitted inside a containment zone and those whose schools fall into the zone will be allotted a centre outside it.

CBSE has also issued a helpline number for examinees — 1800-118-002 — for queries regarding allotment of exam centre. Students can call the helpline number from 9.30 am to 5 pm on all working days.

It also mentioned that at least 10 days time would be given for the commencement of the examinations, which were postponed with effect from March 19.

CBSE has also said that the results of children with special needs will be declared as per an assessment scheme to be decided by the Board.
