Bhubaneswar : In this time of epidemic a group of highly oriented women are giving a new hope to their lives. These women are belongs to Hirakud in Sambalpur district of Odisha.
Now the supply demand gap of face mask made these self- help group women to step out of their house and making their talent utilize to save their people by stitching cotton masks, by cooking food for the people in quarantine centers, spreading awareness about wearing mask, hand sanitizing and social distancing, by monitoring about migrants and adherence to home quarantine rules.
The “Hindalco has been continuously supporting these women groups from the very beginning in these kind of activities”
Gupta adds: that they have been taking many projects in around Hirakud for empowering these women group’s which will help them in supplement their family income.
Till date, these groups have provided around 35500 face masks, 1750 sanitizers, 1400 litters hand wash liquids and around 4100 soaps to the people.
