Puri/Bhubaneswar : Tourism in Odisha is one of the main contributors to the Economy of Odisha with a 500 km long coastline, beautiful mountains, serene lakes and frolicking rivers. But in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the tourism sector has completely ceased. With places of tourist interest in the state like Konark Sun Temple, Puri beach, Chandrabhaga beach, Bhitarkanika and Nandankanan remaining shut for an uncertain period of time, and cases of infection growing every day, the state almost has zero influx of tourists by the day.
Also the Ratha Yatra which draws a million tourists every year was conducted just for the ritualistic affair in view of the pandemic. Hotels have been allowed to function but only with 30% capacity. The restaurants are yet to open. The tourism sector has been affected more than the others and it will take ample amount of time to revive
