Bhubaneswar: Lakhs of examinees appearing for several competitive examinations were left to fend for themselves as the road leading to the examination centre was completely jammed, leading to disruption of vehicular movement. The job aspirants were seen running in tears, as they negotiated the roads to reach the Exam hall.
Odishalinks was on the spot and noticed massive traffic disruption from Jaydev Vihar to KIIT (Deemed to be University) stretch. To make things worse, there were hardly any traffic personnel present to settle the commotion.
“The timing to enter the exam hall was 9.10am, but due to the traffic jam, I am yet to reach,” said Rajesh, who was making his way to the exam hall even at 9.50am.
Similarly, another aspirant said, “This is disgusting. We have to face so much just to reach the exam centre. How will we appear for the exam in such a state of mind?”
The Assistant Section Officers’ (ASO) Exam has already been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The examination which was initially supposed to be held on December 23, 2018, was postponed to January 20, for no proper reason. The new date of examination clashed with the Railway Assistant Loco Pilot and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Exam, drawing a flak from the job aspirants.
Several aspirants had filed a plea with the Orissa High Court, on further postponing the ASO exam, but it was rejected.
